Central Relay for Life: Honoring, Remembering, Searching for a Cure

By  |
Central Relay for Life is happening on November 16th here in Central.  Relay for Life exists to honor and remember those affected by cancer, to educate our communities about cancer and the available options for prevention and treatment, and to raise money for the American Cancer Society, a national non-profit that funds cancer research as well as providing benefits and support for those affected by the disease.
Everyone has someone in their life who has been affected by cancer, whether it be a family member, friend, or a friend’s loved one.  So many people have had to watch someone go through difficult, sometimes heartbreaking, times because of cancer.  Come be a part of funding new research, treatment options, and support for cancer patients.  Come be a part of supporting those going through cancer treatments.  Come be a part of remembering and honoring both those who have passed on from cancer and those who are survivors.  Come join us at Relay for Life.
There are several ways to get involved.  You can come out on the day of the Relay and enjoy fun activities as well as meaningful moments.  You can form a team with your friends, business, or organization.  You can donate funds or items.  To learn more about forming a team, donating to the Relay event, or supporting the Relay in other ways, email [email protected].  You can also come to our open meeting on Thursday, September 19th.  More details on this meeting will be provided next week.
Did You Know: An average of 64 people in Louisiana EACH DAY are told that they have cancer.  Visit www.cancer.org or call 1-800-227-2345 to learn what the American Cancer Society is doing to help, both locally and nationwide.
