Donations Sought for Injured CHS Student

By  |

daytonB    Dayton James Nunez was involved in a car accident the morning of July 6th 2014 and was not responsive when EMS arrived. His condition is very serious but hopeful. His seat belt kept him in the car after hitting a tree, a concrete wall, and a culvert and held him out of the water, preventing him from drowning while trapped in the car, unconscious. The driver of the car did not make it and prayers for the family who lost their son are appreciated.
Dayton is suffering from traumatic brain injury. He had a bleed near his cerebellum and some bruising and swelling. His injuries are classified as severe. He is still not fully conscious but is trying to wake. He will have to endure rehabilitation in New Orleans for traumatic brain injury and his recovery is unknown at this point, but he shows signs of improvement. Dayton was a running back for CHS and was entering his junior year. He is known for his strength, athletics, and fun personality at school.
If you would like to make a donation to help cover medical and rehab expenses for Dayton, you can make them at any Whitney Bank location. The benefit account is listed under Dayton James Nunez. You can also donate at /www.gofundme.com/brrqik. All donations will be used for rehab, medical bills, dental work that he needs due to the accident, and traveling expenses throughout this process.
