CAPA Corner

Great class this week in our Bible School, MTI School of Ministry.  We are teaching the book of Genesis and I was impressed in Chapter 22 with the faith and trust that Isaac had in his father.  We often admire the faith of Abraham in this story, but think about Isaac.
His question was, "Father, the fire and the wood are here, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?"
This tells me that Isaac was familiar with what was required for a proper offering.  Or better yet, his father had taught him how to worship the Lord.  I see a deep spiritual relationship of faith and trust between a father and son.
When Abraham responds, "God will provide the lamb," Isaac doesn't question his father.  Even to the point of being bound and laid on an altar trusting in his father's words… "God will provide."
What faith!  What trust!  What a relationship between a father and son!
It reminds me of another father and son.  "Father, not my will but your will be done."  Or in other words, "I trust you Dad!"  Even to the point of laying my life down for you.
God is looking for some Isaacs in this generation, willing to trust Him no matter what and ready to lay down their lives trusting in their Father's words!   And God is looking for some fathers in this generation that will teach their children how to worship The Lord.  And when He finds them… Jehovah Jireh shows up with the miraculous provision of God!
