Central Edged Out by Zachary

The district-leading Broncos had to rely on a risky two point conversion to pull ahead of the Wildcats in the final minutes of Friday’s rivalry match in Zachary.  Central’s last minute drive to answer the score fell short, giving the Broncos the 22-21 win.
In arguably the strongest performance of the year, Central scored early and held a 14-0 lead going into a wild 4th quarter.  Field position made the difference as Zachary was able to take three short field opportunities to score, while Central added one touchdown.
Central’s Defense turned in a strong performance by holding Zachary scoreless for three quarters and only bending in the late game short-field Zachary possessions.
Leo Brownfield led Central’s offense with 119 yards on 20 carries with two touchdowns.  Tyler Sansone, in his first start at QB since a shoulder injury early in the season, completed 11 of 18 passes.  Central continued to protect the ball and recorded a second straight game with zero turnovers.

Senior Night

Central hosts District opponent Broadmoor Friday night in the last home game of the 2014 season.  This is “Senior Night”, with pregame and half time recognition of the Seniors, including players, band members, cheerleaders, trainers, silks, kittens, and ROTC.
Broadmoor comes to Central to face the Wildcats with both teams sitting at 2-5 for the season and looking to end the season 5-5 with a strong finish.  The game can be heard on the Central Stat Care FM 91.9 broadcast beginning at 6:45, or on the TuneIn Radio App under Radio Amor.
