In Memoriam: Thelma Elaine Watts Holstein

    "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want…." Psalm 23  Thelma Elaine Watts Holstein, 80, of  Central, LA, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2015 at Golden Age Nursing Home, Denham Springs. Elaine made Psalm 23 a daily part of her life. She served her Lord as a Sunday School teacher at Galilee Baptist Church, Zachary for 52 years. She also served her community by working for East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, Central Substation for 20 years before retiring. Elaine also worked for many years as a member of the Louisiana Cattleman's Association. She loved her family, church and friends and will be dearly missed by all those whose lives she touched. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Central, on Wednesday, May 20, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Resuming at Galilee Baptist Church, Zachary, on Thursday, May 21, from 9 a.m. to service at 10 a.m., officiated by William “Red” Thornton. Burial will be at Resthaven Garden of Memories, Baton Rouge. She is survived by her daughters, Jan Holstein Goolsby and Kim Holstein Davis and husband, Steven; grandchildren, James Aaron Goolsby and Michalyn Rae Davis and fiancé, Dakota Lavergne; great-grandchildren, Averie Davis and Addison Lavergne; and sister, Alice Sue Watts Clayton. She was preceded in death by her parents, O.W. and Mildred Robinson Watts; and sister, Helen Watts Schlatre. The family would like to share a special thank you to the staff of Golden Age Nursing Home for their care during this difficult time.
