Professional Musician Visits CHS Students

By  |

IMG_0669B    Fabian Thibodeaux, known professionally as Isadar, visited Central High School music students last week.  He performed his original music for piano, band, jazz band, and choir students.  He also gave a lot of time to answer questions from the students about the music industry.  Isadar was born in Louisiana and has been working for SONY Music in New York City for over twenty years.  In addition, he writes, records, and performs his own music.  He is known for his beautiful piano pieces and for recording multiple tracks to create a “one man band” with instrumentals and vocals.
Isadar had a lot of useful information and advice to offer the students, many of whom are interested in pursuing careers in music.  He touched on everything from music style to college choices to paying taxes as an artist.  One of the biggest points he emphasized is the importance of hard work.  He explained that it can take a lot of time and investment to find success, and most musicians still have a “day job” to have a steady income, even if they are successful as artists.
The afternoon was fun and very helpful to the students, and it was great to have someone who is working in the music industry share his experiences and knowledge.
