The Central Cultural Foundation Coffee hour will be held at Central Perk next Thursday, June 25 at 7:00 p.m. The guest will be Ms. DeeDee Fitzgerald of the East Baton Rouge Parish Library, who will speak on the amenities and facilities available to the public, including at our own local branches.  A PEW Foundation study reveals that 95% of Americans believe a library system in their community plays an important role in offering chances to succeed and promote the love of reading, and 81 % believe that a library offers services that are hard to find elsewhere. The City of Central in the quiet of our boundaries offers to adults and children the opportunity for a better life. So, join us as we take flight into worlds which may not be discovered, if not for the value of reading – and learn how the library may help you and our most precious commodity, the children, in this journey we call life.  See you there!

“ So it is with children who learn to read fluently and well: they begin to take flight into whole new worlds as effortlessly as young birds take to the sky.” -William James
“ Children are made readers on the laps of their parents.” -Emilie Buchwald
