central_10yrcelebration_flyer    The City of Central will celebrate ten years as a city next Saturday, June 11.  To mark the occasion, there will be a community celebration.
The fun begins at BREC Lovett Road Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., where there will be lots of family activities like the Filthy Factor Family Fun Run, water slides, kids’ crafts, face painting, a hot dog eating contest at noon, a zip line, and various fun competitions throughout the event.  Everything is free except concessions, which will be sold by food truck vendors.  There will even be a limited number of free t-shirts and water bottles available.  Wear old clothes and shoes for the fun run, and if you wish, bring swimsuits for the water slides.
Starting at 6 p.m., the fun moves to Wildcat Stadium on Hooper Road near Sullivan.  Bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy live music by Burnhouse and a firework display.  The celebration event is being sponsored by the City of Central and BREC.
