EBRSO Charges Drug Dealer With Murder for Heroin Overdose

    Following a lengthy investigation, East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s detectives charged an alleged drug dealer yesterday evening for  murder related to the March 7th Heroin overdose of a man.
    Brandon Jamal Parker (dob 2/20/91) is charged with Second Degree Murder and Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I Narcotics (Heroin) for the March 7, 2015 death of 20-year-old James “Alex” Brasfield.
    According to a witness statement Parker sold the Heroin to Brasfield on March 6, 2015. Brasfield went back to his residence on Denham Road where he ingested the Heroin, went to sleep and did not wake up.
    Parker was initially arrested on July 29, 2015 for unrelated drug charges. Detectives added the additional charges yesterday evening.
