Multi-Agency Sobriety Checkpoint Carried Out As Part of Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign

    In a continuing effort to combat impaired driving in East Baton Rouge, a sobriety checkpoint was carried out within in East Baton Rouge Parish in the 11800 block of Hooper Road on the evening of Thursday, August 27th and continued into the early morning hours of Friday, August 28th.
    This enforcement effort was coordinated with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Louisiana Highway Safety Commission’s Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign which is in effect through Labor Day. 
    This checkpoint was a joint agency enforcement effort with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, Central Police Department, Louisiana State Police, and the Baton Rouge Police Department. 
 
The enforcement effort resulted in the following:

10 SFST’s
14 Citations
2 DWI’s
1 Narcotics Arrest
1 Ill. Poss. Stolen Things
