The Central Chamber Report: Christmas in Central

By  |

It is almost here!  The Christmas Parade, hosted by the Central Chamber, has been a major Christmas Season event in Central for what will now be 29 years!  Prior to the parade, the Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place on Thursday evening, December 3rd at 6:30 p.m.  In attendance will be the 2016 Miss City of Central winners, the Coca Cola Santa Truck, the CHS Jazz Band, a chorus group from CPS, a group of renaissance singers and Central’s Mayor Shelton.  This is always a great time for family and friends to get together to hear some music, listen to the reading of the Christmas story, and to light the Central Community Christmas Tree!
On Saturday Morning, December 5, Joor Road will be closed for the 29th Annual Central Christmas Parade.  The parade will travel from Joor and Hooper, down Joor, and end at Joor and Lovett.  There will be music, floats, cars, candy, beads, and of course Santa and his sleigh! This is always a wonderful family friendly event for our community!
Don’t forget, from now until December 13, you can become eligible to win one of four shopping sprees to be given away on December 14.  Just stop by any participating merchant, get your Holiday Shopping Spree punch card, and get busy shopping!  Last week’s paper had a complete listing of participating merchants.  Remember this Christmas Season to Shop Central!
Thanks go out to all the volunteers, the Leaders, Aaron Moak, our City Police, the EBRSO, Central Fire Department, and DEMCO for making the parade and tree lighting possible! Thanks to the participating merchants, the Central Community School System, and The City of Central for helping the Central Chamber put on the Shop Small Business Campaign!  Finally special thanks goes to our Christmas Sponsors: AA Mini Storage, Caliente Mexican Craving, Callihan Law Firm, Central Early Learning Center, Central Heating and Air, Central Super Suds Carwash, Central Title and Closing, Michael Loolara Agency State Farm, Parker Orthodontics, RV Cams, and Wingstop Central who helped to make all the Christmas activities possible.  Merry Christmas and see you out Thursday and Saturday!
