Help for Cleanup

By  |

The Baptist Association of Southeast Louisiana is a disaster relief program that will gut out your sheet rock and spray to kill the mold that is growing in your home free of charge.  If you need assistance please call Stan Statham, Director of Missions, at (985)839-3827.  Cell number (985)515-4367, or email at [email protected].
From the Habitat for Humanity website (http://habitatbr.org/):
"Habitat for Humanity of Greater Baton Rouge is offering assistance to complete interior debris/contents removal, mucking, gutting, and then to do the final cleaning and sanitizing. We are not able to do any mold control or remediation, and will not be completing any rebuilding. We also do not guarantee that any sanitizing treatment is able to fully prevent mold from growing.
This assistance is only available to homes owned and occupied by the homeowner. Documentation must be provided for proof of ownership. Additionally, Habitat will not complete work on any homes covered by Flood Insurance.
Items removed from the home will be left at the front of the property to be disposed of. Habitat for Humanity will not be removing items from the property. If there are any items that you wish to salvage from the home, this must be done in advance of the scheduled gutting day.
Your presence is required on the scheduled date of gutting.
ALL FIREARMS AND/OR OTHER WEAPONS MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE HOME BEFORE THE SCHEDULED WORKDAY, legal or not. If any of these items are found while work is being done on your home, work will cease immediately.
Habitat for Humanity will be using volunteers to complete the work on the home.
Habitat for Humanity can not guarantee the timeline for completion of work on your home or the ability to complete work for all individuals in need since we are reliant on donations from the community as well as availability of supplies and volunteers. Work will be scheduled in the most efficient manner possible to reach as many homes as we are able. "
The assistance request form can be found at their website, along with contact information.
