In Memoriam: Arthur “Wallace” Edwards, Sr.

Arthur “Wallace” Edwards, Sr., born on March 19, 1927 in Baton Rouge, entered the gates of Heaven in the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 10, 2017.  He left behind his son and daughter-in-law,Dwight and Charlotte Anne Edwards; daughter, Donna Edwards; son, Arthur Edwards, Jr.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Barbara “Bobbie” and Walter Bogan; grandchildren, Damon, Taylor, Kim, Christopher, Mary, and Meagan; as well as 9 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years, Joyce Cecile Facundus Edwards; parents, Jessie Birch and Alice Lovett Edwards; brothers, Allen, Scott, Jules, and Birch; sister Ellamae; and grandson Jerrod Edwards.
    Wallace was a WWII Navy veteran and 50 year member of the Central Masonic Lodge.  He loved his church and was a lifelong member of Blackwater United Methodist Church.  He and Joyce were avid bird watchers and enjoyed taking trips across the country to see special species.  After retiring, Wallace and Joyce continued to travel and enjoy life.
    In lieu of flowers, donations to Blackwater UMC or your favorite charity may be given.  We will have him in our hearts forever.  Visitation was held at Blackwater United Methodist Church on Saturday, January 14 until the service at 3 p.m.  Burial followed in the church cemetery.  Condolences may be offered at www.sealefuneral.com.
