LHSAA Boys Bi-Regionals, Tuesday (3-28-17)
Play-In Round #2 – To begin what could be a very long day for the Wildcats (needing 3 wins to reach the Final 4), Central made fairly short work of the Hammond Region Albany High School (12-2).  For the second straight year, Central eliminated Albany from the state playoffs by a final score of 23-4 and 3390-2824. The 3390 was the third highest series rolled by the Wildcats this season. Leading the way was Senior Parker Aucoin with 667 series (226,223,218), followed by Sophomore Michael Williston's 621 (203,234), Senior Bryce Delaune's 565 (217) and Senior Dylan Ringo's 543 (201).  Senior Parker Wales added a 238.
Round 3 – Central (14-3) moved on to face the Catholic Bears (15-0) in Final 16 and gave the Bears everything they had.  The Wildcats opened up a big lead in Game 1 with school record setting performance by rolling a 1290 to Catholic's 1146 and winning 7 of 8 points. The record performance included Delaune's 163, Senior Klaivon Woods' 200, Wales' 207, Ringo's 219, Williston's 243 and Aucoin's 258.  Game 2 would go in Catholic's favor with a very strong 1241 to Central's 1145.  With Central having a slim 9.5-6.5 lead going into the final game, Central would simply run out of gas and lose the final game 1026-1178 and 0-8.  Unfortunately for the second straight year Central's season would end with a loss to the Bears, 9.5-17.5 and 3461-3565.  The 3461 was the highest series this season for the Wildcats and the fifth highest in school history.  Another bright spot included three Wildcats qualifying for the next round in singles competition: Williston (653-243,225,185), Aucoin (622-258,206) and Ringo (622-219,226).
Round 4 (Singles) – In the final round before next week's Final 4, Williston, Aucoin and Ringo attempted to advance to the Raising Cane's River Center through the singles competition. Ringo would catch fire and lead all bowlers with a 241 average (246,236) and easily qualify for next week's competition. Unfortunately Williston and Aucoin's season would come to an end.  Ringo will attempt to win a LHSAA Singles State Championship next Friday (4-7-17) with Round 5 starting around 11am and (if Ringo qualifies) the Finals at approximately 1 p.m.
All around, great bowling fellas! Another great season!
