Christian Thompson Selected for All State Jazz Ensemble

Christian Thompson, Senior Percussionist at Central High School, was selected for the 2017 LMEA All State Jazz Ensemble. The Ensemble met for 2 days of rehearsals, ending with a performance on Sunday, November 19th. This years guest conductor was Wycliffe Gordon. Mr. Gordon has performed with many artist including Wynton Marsalis, Paul Simon, Natalie Merchant, Ricky Skaggs, and Doc Severinsen to name a few. The band performed works by Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald. Only 23 students were selected statewide for this honor. Great Job, Christian!
