City Services Contract Awarded to IBTS

By  |
IBTS, the private non-profit entity that has provided all of Central’s city services for the past seven years, has been awarded the contract for the next five years. The IBTS price estimate for the work was $4 million lower than the only competitor for the contract, CSRS.
The city services contract privatizes many functions of city services including drainage maintenance, street repair, permitting, accounting, and inspections. At Tuesday’s meeting, the City Council unanimously approved Mayor Shelton’s recommendation that the 5-year $20 million contract be awarded to IBTS.
