In Memoriam: Marshall M. LeBlanc

leblancMarshall M. LeBlanc, 79, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on February 10, 2018, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. LeBlanc was born in Gonzales, Louisiana, on October 3, 1938. He served in the United States Army for twelve years. Marshall worked as a pipe fitter for Local 198. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and he was a member of the Honor Guard. Marshall is survived by his wife Shirley LeBlanc; his brother Noah Leblanc and wife Tut; and stepchildren Vickie Parrish, Angela Picou, Mark Kirby, Troy Kirby, and Tracey Reily. He is preceded in death by his children, Nathan LeBlanc and Jennifer Rodriguez; his parents, Sosten Leblanc and Opehlia LeBlanc; as well his brothers Toby LeBlanc, John LeBlanc, and Leo LeBlanc, and his sisters Rosa Lee Cooper and Leontine Martinez. He was affectionately called "Pappy" or "Paw Paw" by his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved dancing and Cajun music, enjoyed camping and going fishing, and had a warm heart that he shared with all. He and Shirley never met a stranger in the campgrounds, and they enjoyed cooking and sharing Southern hospitality. He loved to lend a helping hand and helped many neighbors, friends, and family with home repairs. He loved sharing his time and hobbies with his grandchildren from crabbing, woodworking, fishing, riding scooters, or flying kites – he was willing to try it all. The memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on February 16, 2018, at Magnolia United Methodist Church in Greenwell Springs, Louisiana. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the memorial service at 11:00 AM. There will be a private graveside service following his memorial at Roselawn Memorial Park.
