City Council to Vote on City Hall Land Purchase

At its April 24th meeting, Central’s City Council will vote whether to spend “up to $285,000” for property “near the corner of Hooper Road and Sullivan Road” to build a $5 million City Hall. The actual size and location of the property is not stated in the proposed ordinance, which reads in part:
“WHEREAS, the City of Central desires to construct a new City Hall on approximately two acres of land located near the corner of Hooper Road and Sullivan Road in Central, Louisiana; . . . 
The Council for the City of Central hereby authorizes and directs the Mayor of the City of Central to execute the agreement to purchase approximately two acres of land from the Central Community School System for a price up to two hundred eighty five thousand dollars ($285,000.00) for the construction of a City Hall for the City of Central.”
