Weekly Church Update

bible1Blackwater United Methodist Church will hold revival services next week beginning on Thursday, November 19. Services will be held those Thursday and Friday evenings at 7 PM and on Sunday morning, November 22 at 10 AM. Wesley Putnam, a minister, musician, and storyteller, will be the featured guest at these services. Everyone is invited to come fellowship.

The Immanuel Baptist Church Youth will be holding a fundraiser this weekend on Saturday, November 14. They will be selling chicken dinners at Oak Point Fresh Market at the corner of Sullivan and Greenwell Springs Road. Dinners cost $5 each. The youth will be there from 10 AM on, so stop by and pick up lunch after you go vote.

Weekly Church Update

Blackwater United Methodist Church will hold its final blood drive of the year this Sunday, November 8 from 9 AM to 1 PM. Everyone is invited to give blood and help save a life.

Life Tabernacle Church is holding special celebration services in honor of Bishop B. A. Spell. Bishop Spell has served for 50 years. The services will be this week on Friday, November 6, Saturday, November 7, and Sunday, November 8. The services on Saturday and Sunday will be at 7 PM, and the two Sunday services will be at 10 AM and 7 PM.

Greenwell Springs Baptist Church is hosting the Annual Community-Wide Thanksgiving Serivce this year. The service will be on Wednesday, November 18 at 7 PM. The speaker will be Tony Perkins, President of the Family Research Council. Praise and worship will be led by a choir made up of choir members from 20 different churches in the area. After the service, there will be a reception in the Greenwell Springs Baptist Church gym.

Weekly Church Update

churchclipart3Comite Baptist Church will hold its Fall Fun Fest this Friday, October 30 from 6-8 PM. The event will take place in the gym. It is free and open to the public and will include games, slide, inflatables, food, and candy.

The College & Career group from Zoar Baptist will be having a Central Intermediate School work day on Wednesday, November 17 at 6 PM. They will be painting and cleaning up. Come help and hang out if you are part of this age group.

Weekly Church Update

Life Tabernacle Church now runs a bus route every Sunday morning at 8 AM to pick up anyone interested in attending Sunday School and morning worship. All ages are welcome. Children under 5 must have an adult present. They serve breakfast before the adults attend morning worship and children go to Sunday School. All who ride the bus will be home between noon and 1 PM. Call Pastor Tony Spell at 485-7833 to reserve a spot on the bus.

There will be a series of celebration services honoring Bishop B. A. Spell at Life Tabernacle Church. Bishop Spell has given 50 years of “standing, growing, and reaching across the world.” The service schedule is as follows: Friday, 11/6, 7 PM, led by Bro. Curtis Young; Saturday, 11/7, 7 PM, led by Bro. Ben Weeks; Sunday, 11/8, 10 AM, led by Bro. Gary Streeval; and Sunday, 11/8, 7 PM, led by Bro. Martyn Ballestero. Journey Church has started their Thanksgiving Feast Outreach, which will go on through 11/1. To help, pick up a grocery bag from Journey Church in the foyer. The bag will have a list attached of items to be included. Fill up a bag with the items listed and return it to the church. You do not need to be a church member to help. The donated items will go to families in need this Thanksgiving season. Call the church office at 262-4381 for more information.

Singles Dinner and Dessert with the Journey Church Singles group will be this Friday, October 23. It runs from 7 PM to 9 PM at Bonbon Bakery at 17661 Greenwell Springs Road. Singles ages 30 and up are invited to come be a part of this group. Childcare during this event will be provided at Journey Church.

The registration deadline for Upward Basketball and Upward Cheerleading is next Monday, October 26. Bring the completed REGISTRATION FORM and fee to Zoar Baptist Church by the deadline to sign up. Basketball is for boys and girls ages K5 through 6th grade, and cheerleading is for girls ages K4 through 6th grade.

Life Tabernacle Offers Free Bus Rides to Church

Every Sunday morning, bus routes will begin at 8 AM to pick up anyone interested in attending Sunday School. All ages are welcome, but children under 5 must be accompanied by an adult. Complimentary breakfast will be served to all. Adults will then attend morning worship while the children enjoy a Sunday School lesson with puppets, dramas, songs, and games. All who ride the bus will be back home between noon and 1 PM. To reserve your spot on the bus, call Pastor Tony Spell at 485-7833.

Weekly Church Update

Pumpkin Patch opens this weekend on October 17 at Blackwater United Methodist Church. Open hours are Monday-Friday 9 AM to noon and 2 PM to 7 PM, Saturdays from 9 AM to 5 PM, and on Sundays from 2 PM to 6 PM. For more information about Pumpkin Patch, call the church office at 261-4646.
Journey Church announces JourneyFest 2009. It is an evening of free games, music, food, and hayrides. JourneyFest happens on Friday, October 30 from 6 PM- 8PM.
Central Bible Church has moved from its previous location in the Central Community Theatre space to its new location at the Central Conference and Training Center at 6659 Sullivan Road.

Weekly Church Update

The Church in Central organized the All Pro Dad’s Breakfast at Central Intermediate School. The program was a success, and they hope to continue the breakfasts every month and to possibly expand the program to Central Middle.

Next month, members of the Church in Central, including several Central Middle and Central High students, will be headed to the Amazon Basin in Brazil.

Zoar Youth Ministry is collecting toiletry items for the homeless. Mouthwash, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, belts and socks are needed. They will pass these items out on Saturday, October 10th. All Items can brought to the church office: 11848 Hooper Road, 261-3434.

The Zoar Baptist Church “Fall Festival” will be Saturday, October 31st from 6-8pm. There will be games, hot dogs, nachos, a space walk, rock wall, hay rides, hot air balloon rides, a giant slide, and much more! Help us fill the Central Food Bank by bringing a non-perishable food item!

Central Bible Church started an introductory theology class this past Thursday. The class will last for ten weeks. For more information on the class or to contact the church, visit www.central-bible.org.

Central Bible Church Starting Theology Course

Central Bible Church is starting a 10-week long Introduction to Theology course starting OCtober 1st. They will meet every Thursday evening at 7 PM. The Central Bible Church meets at the Central Conference and Training Center at 6659 Sullivan Rd.
