On December 13, 2008, Cpl.William “Buddy” Ilgenfritz was severly injured in a head on collision on Sullivan Road. Cpl. Ilgenfritz remains in the hospital in a coma. He has a young family to support. The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office is holding a Jambalaya benefit to help the Ilgenfritz family on Saturday January 24 between 10:30 and 1:00 at the Central Wal-Mart.
