Central Runs Over Unbeaten Denham 35-2

The Wildcats put their season back on track and set up a crucial showdon with Catholic High by soundly defeating Denham Springs tonight. The stats for tonight’s game and for the season can be seen by clicking these links:       GAME STATS       SEASON STATS

Briscoe went 16-27 for 187 yards and Giglio, Briscoe (twice), and Dunn recorded rushing touchdowns while Louis Covington ran back a blocked field goal attempt 76 yards for a score. On defense Josh Johns recorded 8 tackles and 10 assists while Rovell Lee and David Vest combined for 14.5 tackles and 7 assists.

The victory, combined with a Catholic win at Walker tonight, puts Central in a 3-way tie for first in the district. Catholic lost to Denham, Denham lost to Central and Central lost to Scotlandville. The winner of next week’s Central-Catholic game will have a share of first place, and if and Scotlandville beats Denham the Cenral-Catholic winner will be the outright district champ.
