Lady Wildcats Bring Record to 8-4

    On Thursday, March 1st, the Lady Wildcats beat West Feliciana in a home game with a score of 11-0.  Maddie Devall was the winning pitcher, throwing a 1-hit shutout and 9 strikeouts in 5 innings.  Maranda Schmidt scored 2 runs and stole 4 bases.  Brittany Johnson went 1-3 at the plate, scoring 1 run and 2 RBI's with 2 stolen bases.  Kaylan Hunt was also 1-3  and had 3 RBI's. 
    Last weekend, Central played 3 games in the St. Amant Tournament.  On Friday, Central fell to Dutchtown, 3-8.  Maddie Devall was 1-2 at bat with a stolen base and an RBI.  Kaylee Dinot went 1-2 and hit a home run and 1 RBI.
    Central came back Saturday with a 9-2 victory over Covington.  Maddie Devall pitched 7 innings, had 1 earned run, 1 hit, and 5 strikeouts with 3 walks.  Katie Flowers was on fire at the plate, batting 4-4 with a home run, 2 doubles, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI's.  Brittney McCarty went 3-4 with a double and a run scored.
    The Wildcats ended their tournament weekend with a 2-7 loss to False River.  Brittney McCarty pitched, ending the game with 5 earned runs, 6 walks, 4 strikeouts, and 7 hits.  Kaitlyn Picou and Kaylee Dinot each had RBI’s.
    On Tuesday, March 6, Central lost a close one at Walker, 5-6.  Maddie Devall pitched 3 earned runs, 4 hits, 4 strikeouts, and 7 walks.  Brittney McCarty went 3-4 at bat with a double, 1 run, and 1 RBI.  Brittany Johnson hit 2-4 and scored 2 runs.  Katie Flowers went 2-4 with a home run, 1 run, and 2 RBI's.  Kaylan Hunt hit 1-4, a home run, 1 run, and 2 RBI's.
    Last Thursday, Central won a big game against Zachary, ending at 13-2 after 5 innings.  Maddie Devall threw 5 strikeouts, 3 walks, 2 runs, and 4 hits.  At the plate, Brittany Johnson went 3-4 with a stolen base and  2 runs.  Chelsea David was 2-3, scoring 3 runs and stealing 1 base.  Brittney McCarty was 2-4 with 4 runs and 2 RBI's.  Kaitlyn Picou got 1 hit and 2 RBI's, and Kaylan Hunt scored 1 run and 3 RBI's.
    Central is currently 1-1 in district and 8-4 overall.  Their next game is this afternoon at 4 PM at home against Scotlandville.
