Joraanstad Ranks Fifth at World Curling Championship

Nicole Joraanstad, daughter of Central residents Gary and Debra Joraanstad, played third on the Team USA curling team that recently placed fifth out of twelve countries in the World Curling Championship this past weekend in Lethbridge, Alberta.  Team USA completed the round robin with a record of 7-4 and lost to Canada 9-8 in the tie-breaker game.  Nicole ended up with the top shooting percentage of 88% for all thirds at the World’s. 

Joraanstad also played in the 2010 Winter Olympics and in World Championships in 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2004, 2002, 2001 (juniors) and 2000 (juniors).

Nicole has a sister Andrea that lives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
