On Wednesday, May 2, 2012, lightning struck our home in Central. My wife and nephew were home at the time. They and our pets made it out of the house with no injuries. The fire departments from Central and Baton Rouge responded quickly to the call, with the first truck on the scene in five minutes. The fire was contained and extinguished within 20 minutes of the first truck arriving. Had there been a delay of just a few minutes, the fire would have reached the attic and our home would have been lost. I would like to extend a big thank you to the Central and Baton Rouge Fire Departments for their quick and professional response during our time of need.
Gratefully,
Bob Lansing
