State Baseball Champs

    Led by Head Coach Mike Forbes and Assistant Coaches Brian Brown, Ricky Creel, Antonio Ragusa, Hunter Edgens, and Clay Polk, the 2017 State Championship Baseball Team includes Quint Guerin, Ma’Khail Hilliard, Sam Kenerson, Travis Dowden, Brant Husser, Joseph Schopp, Hunter Hebert, Hunter Arnold, Drew Lasseigne, Triston Monte, Andrew Harris, Sam Stafford, Brady Jones, Carson Balthazar, Cade Kimbrell, Chapman Lowrance, Grant Mayers, Lakendrick Paul, Todd Lasseigne, RJ Coffee, Connor Heyl, Dalton Aspholm, Eddie Pezant, Shamar Henry, Andrew Myrick, Brant Chauvin, Max Bryant, and Hunter Edwards.
    The Wildcats, who were the #7 seed in the state playoffs, took the title after defeating #26 Parkway (score 5-1), #10 Live Oak (scores 14-4 and 5-4), #18 Denham Springs (scores 4-7, 5-0, and 2-0), #3 Sam Houston (score 4-1), and #1 West Monroe (score 4-2).  Congratulations to this stellar team, which joins the ranks of several impressive athletic groups from Central High School in a landmark year of championships and awards.  Pick up the June 15 edition of Central Speaks for more on our state championship teams.
