Central Feeds Central for Thanksgiving

IMG_2035bOn Saturday, November 18, 2017, Central Feeding Central in Memory of my daddy, Dennis M. Lewis held our 4th Annual Winn Dixie Day.  The goal was to raise 50 turkeys plus all of the fixings to make Thanksgiving Bags for the food banks clients.  Needless to say, Kevin Keithly, Jennie Sparks, and I (all pictured above) reached our goal and then some.
The Central community donated 29 Turkeys, Mr. Floyd Gomez of Twisted Daiquiris donated 15, and Mayor Jr Shelton gave 17.  A grand total of 61 turkeys!!! We also received 500 lbs of items that make up the bags.
Central Feeding Central/City of Central Food Bank would like to thank Megan Willis manager of Winn Dixie Central and all of her staff for allowing us to invade their storefront for six hours Saturday.  Also, Winn Dixie made an additional donation of the holiday items they were short.
Additional thanks go out to:  The Rubber House of Baton Rouge,  $1,000.00 donation;  Big R Club, 90lbs of food;  Blackwater United Methodist Church, 100lbs of food and fresh vegetables;  Immanuel Baptist Church, 125lbs of food;  Central Private School, 1000lbs+ of food;  Bellingrath Hills Elementary, 250lbs food;  and Darrell Shuttleworth, food and 2 turkeys.
Thanksgiving bags were given out on Tuesday, November 21st to qualifying food bank clients.
Central Feeding Central/City of Central Food Bank could not do what we do if it were not for the continued support of our caring community.  We are so blessed to have a community with such generous hearts.
THANK YOU CENTRAL!
